1. Do not poop parties.
2. Do not accept employment or elective office unless first defeated in battle.
3. Marry rich.
4. Avoid unpleasant topics in general conversation.
5. Behave with exquisite politeness to your social inferiors, but do not acquire their bad habits.
6. Be loyal to your followers, and protect them from your relatives.
7. Prefer the comic to the tragic mode.
8. Do not think about money if you have enough of it.
9. Try to put on a good show, rain or shine.
10. Develop obsessions you can share with your friends.
